2/4/2008Survey reveals what people want and don't want in their neighbourhoods

TEN thousand people across Glasgow have been quizzed about the issues which matter most in their communties.

Here we bring you the key results of the study so you can see how your area compares with others around the city.

Glasgow Community Planning Partnership (GCPP), the publicly funded body, commissioned the survey across its 10 local community planning partnership areas.

These are areas which overlap police division and council ward boundaries. The idea of aligning the boundaries is to get local services such as police, council, health boards and the voluntary sector to work together better on local problems.

Within each local community planning partnership, there several "neighbourhoods" defined by GCPP.

It says it will use the results of the survey, which took place between October and December 2007, as a guide for channeling government cash to the issues which matter most to residents
