Shauna at her first lesson with Paul Burke from Rhythm Base
By Kevin Macnaught:
Youngster, Shauna Boyd from Wellhouse, is the lucky winner of five free half hour drum lessons from Glasgow’s Rhythm Base drum store.
Shauna, 16, won the lessons in a raffle at a concert held to show support for the young people of the East end called ‘Eastfest’ on 27 March.
The event, organised by Innerzone, part of the Wellhouse Community Trust in partnership with the Greater Easterhouse arts company, John Wheatley college and Strathclyde Police, was a roaring success and included a live performance from rising star of the Scottish music scene, Maeve O’Boyle.
Shauna said: “I was really chuffed when I found out that I had won. I’m a big music fan and I love Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix especially. “It’s a great opportunity for me and I hope these lessons will help me towards my dream of becoming a professional drummer.”
